About Muse Editing

Meet your Editor

Hi, I’m Christine, the founder of Muse Editing. I love transformative stories, working with creatives and non-profits, and making big projects feel small.

A lover of classical liberal arts education, I aspire to develop and support works that cut through the noise and encourage us to wrestle with big ideas. I partner with authors, non-profits, and educational institutions to develop resources and publications that inspire reflection, dialogue, and wonder.

As an editor, I can proofread anything, but my specialty is non-fiction developmental editing. This upcoming year, I will be assisting a non-profit in publishing its first book with a corresponding K-8 curriculum on physical, emotional, and spiritual resiliency. I am the developmental editor for ResourcefulChurch.com. I have assisted various arts and cultural non-profit organizations with streamlining and developing content and resources. And I have just started taking on work as a permissions editor and am currently working with a higher-educational institution on sourcing permissions for two upcoming history sourcebooks.

Here is a little bit more on my background:
  • I’ve been a grammar girl since I can remember. (I can still recall that thrilling, new-book smell of my first childhood thesaurus.) I worked through university as a writing tutor and research assistant and have been writing and editing ever since.
  • I hold a BA in psychology and spent many years as a case manager (psych lingo for a life coach) where I partnered with clients to center in on goals; break down the colossal into smaller, doable steps; and reach the achievable.
  • I received an MA in Theatre Arts from Minnesota State University where I lived and breathed literary analysis and storytelling, and I continue to hone my craft as a theatre teacher and playwright.
  • As a trained dramaturg (theatre lingo for a researcher, developmental editor, and educator all-in-one), understanding trends in the marketplace, matching tone to audience and genre, and collaborating with individuals in the creative process is what I do best.
  • I am a native English speaker; have worked in various cross-cultural and ESL settings; have worked with and taught children of all ages (and adults of all ages); and am experienced with APA and MLA, proficient in the Chicago Manual, and familiar with AP style.

When I am not working, you'll find me reading aloud with my kids and in my community, volunteering at our local theatre, and paddle-boarding with my multi-talented husband, Luke. Please click below to see my full CV or to check out what projects I am currently working on.
